Child Protection Policy

At EVC we take child protection very seriously and have a policy on this which is available below.

All communications from a sponsor to their child will be sent first of all to Father Boniface Kaayabula, Trustee and Project Manager in Uganda for vetting of the contents before being handed to the child.

Any sponsor or supporter, and any accompanying family or friends, who wish to visit a child or children must first of all:

  • Be interviewed by the EVC Child Protection Officer, and another Trustee and be provided with important background information relevant to such a visit.
  • Undertake a DBS criminal record check.

In this document we are purposely vague about the exact location of children so that no-one can contact them without going through Father Boniface.

How can you help?

It costs £240 to sponsor a child ( £20 monthly standing order ) This provides a child with an education, accommodation, clothing and food and pays teaching and non teaching staff. You can also donate securely through BT Giving.
