A collective ‘Thank You!’ from the children!

January 2021

The Christmas season was a very busy one for the local ‘posta’ in Massaka, as numerous sponsors from around the UK sent their children an abundance of presents.

Our EVC Administration Team Members, Gonzaga and Maggie, were kept just as busy delivering them to all the children, doing a fantastic job to make sure each child received their gifts in a timely manner.

This year we commenced a new system whereby donors could register the gift they sent with giftregister@evcuganda.org which meant their gift could be tracked and they were notified when it arrived.

Donor’s greatly appreciated being notified about when their gift had arrived, with one donor saying “it helps to know how long it takes for things to arrive”.

The idea is that donors e-mail giftregister@evcuganda.org to inform us when they have sent a gift, we log it in our database, our Ugandan volunteer lets us know when it has been received and we then pass this information back to the donor via the same email. We have had very positive feedback, “fantastic to see it live and effective”, and even those who did not initially send an email, but received one from us on receipt of their gift in Uganda said, “we will surely contact you next time we send a package”.

Unfortunately, when we contacted some donors on receipt of their gift in Uganda to introduce this tracking system to them, some emails were unrecognised and bounced back. If you think we might not have your most recent email address, could you please send us your most up-to-date details and we will be able to update our database.

Gifts for the children included clothes, trainers, toys, books, colouring pens, hygiene products, and sweets. Some donors sent money, with which a food shop could be done: 10kg rice, 10kg maize flour, 10kg sugar, and 4 bars of soap.

The children are all very grateful for their gifts and wish to send their thanks, blessings and prayers to you as their donor parents!

If you would like to send a package to your child in Uganda at any time, the address is:

It costs £300 to sponsor a child ( £25 monthly standing order ) This provides a child with an education, accommodation, clothing and food and pays teaching and non teaching staff. You can also donate securely through KindLink.
