2022 Uganda Visit to Projects (Blog Series)

July 2022

As part of our Chairman (Ted), Secretary (Judi), and Treasurer (Neil's) visit to our projects in Uganda this month, our first since 2018 due to lockdown restrictions, we will be starting a series of blog updates direct from Uganda detailing their visit and experience, and providing live updates and photos from the projects themselves. The first of these series can be found below.

After a trouble free 16 hour journey, via Amsterdam and Nairobi, Neil, our Treasurer, plus Ted and Judi, arrived safely in Entebbe yesterday, thankfully, complete with all six suitcases and a mixture of hand luggage.

Kyansi, our base for the remainder of their visit, was reached later yesterday evening and a very warm welcome was given by the priests and helpers at the compound.

Today, after breakfast, the short car journey to St Matia Mulumba Primary School was made, for a meeting with the new headteacher, Denis, to discuss how the school is structured and the academic assessment of children carried out. Later, a tour of the school was made, so that everyone could see the new buildings EVC has been able to provide for the school during the last three years. What a difference from the last visit, made in 2018, before lockdowns prevented travel.
