Monday 1st August

Give thanks for a very successful Governance Visit to the projects during July, for safe travel, good health and productive meetings.

Tuesday 2nd August

Pray for Gonzaga, who has taken on a new role as Head of Operations in Uganda, that the Lord will continue to enable her and she will rely on Him, as she takes on these new responsibilities.

Wed 3rd August

Thank God for Janet, the newest member of staff in Uganda, and pray that she will quickly adjust to and, be able to carry out her new duties well.

Thurs 4th August

Pray for Prossy as she oversees the finishing off work on several of the buildng projects at St Matia Mulumba.

Friday 5th August

Tomorrow Judi and Ted are at The Good Shepherd RC Church in Dover to speak about EVC. Pray for a safe and undisrupted journey.

Saturday 6th August

Pray that many in the congregations will come forward to sponsor a child in education.

Sunday 7th August

Pray for Denis, headteacher at St Matia Mulumba, as he takes the lead in developing a 3-5 year Business Plan for the school.

Monday 8th August

Father Boniface will be attending a course in Kenya over these next  months. Pray that he will learn much and that this time will also be a time of rest and refreshment for him.

Tuesday 9th August

Pray for our staff team in Uganda, for good relationships and for an attitude of working together and, supporting and encouraging one another.

Wed 10th August

Pray for Father Michael and Francis, Chairman of the EVC Committee, as they seek to offer support to the staff team in Father Boniface’s absence.

Thurs 11th August

Many needs have come to light as result of the visit to Uganda. Pray for God’s direction as we seek to prioritise these.

Friday 12th August

There is a need for a School Nurse at St Matia Mulumba. Pray that Gonzga and Francis, as they work together on this, will be able to find the right person.

Sat 13th August

Pray that all the outstanding finishing work on the projects will be completed successfully.

Sunday 14th August

Our Gift Aid Secretary, Mia fox, suffered a stroke recently. Pray that, as she receives rehabilitation, she will regain the lost movement and speech. Thank God for her faithful service and pray that we may find someone to take over this work from her.

Mon 15th August

Denis and Josephine, headteachers in the primary schools, are in the process of putting together lists of text books which the schools are in need of. Pray that this will be done quickly so that books can be supplied.

Tues 16th August

Pray also for Denis as he itemises the books and additional furniture needed for the Library at St Matia Mulumba.

Wed 17th August

There are plans to build a ‘fit for purpose’ Nursery building at St Matia Mulumba. Pray for guidance as the first steps in this process are taken.

Thurs 18th August

Give thanks for the staff in the schools and ask, that they will prepare lessons well and understand the needs of each individual child they teach.

Friday 19th August

There is need for an effective IT system for the staff team to ensure good communications with the UK. Pray for Ted as he researches the possibilities.

Sat 20th August

Caritas in Masaka, are going to carry out a survey of children with disabilities within the Diocese, as the first step to enabling these children to access education through EVC. Pray that this will be done within the 4-6 weeks timeframe set.

Sunday 21st August

Pray that the school at St Matia Mulumba will be able to develop a strategy for long term sustainability and self funding.

Mon 22nd August

Pray for all the EVC children, that they will concentrate in class and learn well.

Tues 23rd August

As the Business Plan is developed at St Matia Mulumba, pray for good cooperation between all the stakeholders involved.

Wed 24th August

Pray for Ted, Judi and Gordon, that they will be able to manage the increasing work load, so that the Charity can develop successfully  into the future..

Thurs 25th August

Pray for Jesca and Brenda as they begin their last year in university, that they will give the necessary time to their studies and achieve good results.

Friday 26th August

Batate Maria needs to resit a Maths paper so that she can join a Diploma course in Tailoring and Design. Pray, that as she has help from a tutor, she will understand the work covered and be able to pass the exam later in the year.

Sat 27th August

Pray for our children studying in technical institutes, that they will assimilate and be able to use the skills they are taught so that they are well trained and able to get jobs.

Sunday 28th August

Pray for Gordon as he approaches other charities for grants, particularly for help with further water harvesting projects.

Mon 29th August

Thank God for Denis’ initiative in growing cabbages. Pray that an increasing number of vegetables will be able to be grown so that the children have a more varied diet.

Tues 30th August

Pray for the families of our EVC children as they face the failure of the maize crop due to lack of rain.

Wed 31st August

At present, Janet is living at the compound, but needs to find a place to live. Pray that she will be successful.
