October 2022

Sat 1st Oct

Ted and Judi are speaking at three churches in Burnley this weekend. Pray for safety when travelling and that God would cause the congregations to give generously.

Sun 2nd Oct

Father Boniface is hoping to visit the UK before beginning his course in January. Pray that his application for a visa for the UK will be approved soon.

Mon 3rd Oct

Pray for Gonzaga as she heads up the work for EVC in Uganda.

Tues 4th Oct

Pray also for Prossy and Janet as they support her in the work.

Wed 5th Oct

This term Primary 7, Senior 6 and Senior 6 will be sitting public exams. Pray for them in these weeks until exams begin, that they will take the time to revise and go over the work they have covered.

Thurs 6th Oct

Pray for the teachers in the schools, that they will support these students and give the help needed where there is a lack of understanding.

Fri 7th Oct

Pray for all our children that they will grow in their love for God and develop a desire to serve Him.

Sat 8th Oct

Today there is a Donor Care evening in Wembley. Pray for Ted as he leads this and for a positive  time of discussion with those who attend.

Sun 9th Oct

During Father Boniface’s absence pray that the team in Uganda will be well supported by Father Michael and the EVC Committee members.

Mon 10th Oct

Denis, headteacher at St Matia Mulumba Primary School, is putting together a 3 -5 year business plan for the school. Pray for him in this task - that God will be in the discussions and planning with all the stakeholders

Tues 11th Oct

Continue to pray for all our students that they will concentrate well in class and make good progress.

Wed 12th Oct

Pray for Gonzaga as she looks ahead to the new year and thinks about which schools will be best for those who are moving schools then.

Thurs 13th Oct

This evening there is a Donor Care Evening in Worcester. Pray that many of our sponsors in this area will come and pray for Andy as he leads this Meeting.

Fri 14th Oct

St Matia Mulumba are planning to build a dining room and kitchen. Pray for ideas of how they can fund raise for this.

Sat 15th Oct

This weekend Phil and Gordon are in Swindon for a church appeal. Pray for Phil as she speaks and may we see people willing to take on the sponsorship of a child.

Sun 16th Oct

Due to a lack of rain earlier in the year, the maize crop has turned yellow in the fields. Pray for the families of our children as they face losing this crop, that God will provide for their needs for food.

Mon 17th Oct

As Gonzaga, Prossy and Janet work together, pray for a good team spirit and an attitude of supporting one another in the tasks which need to be done.

Tues 18th Oct

There are many challenges for EVC going forward. Pray for wise decision making on the part of the EVC Board and that right priorities will be set.

Wed 19th Oct

Continue to pray that the parents of children in the area in which we work will begin to see the importance of education for their children.

Thurs 20th Oct

Pray for those of our children studying in technical institutes, that they will enjoy their courses and gain the skills necessary for gaining employment.

Fri 21st Oct

Batate Maria is resitting a Maths paper next month. Pray she will study hard for this and pass so that she can go on to join the Diploma course in Textiles and Tailoring.

Sat 22nd Oct

Today Phil and Gordon are travelling to March in Cambridgeshire for a church appeal. Pray that many in the congregation will  be motivated to give to our work.

Sun 23rd Oct

Pray for the families of the EVC children that they will have creative ideas of how to develop small businesses so that they have the money they need to support their

children in school.

Mon 24th Oct

This term school fees for secondary school children have risen sharply. Pray that we will find additional sources of income which will meet these increased costs.

Tues 25th Oct

There are many jobs at St Matia Mulumba which need to be finished off. Pray for Prossy as she organises these and for Gordon as he supports her in this.

Wed 26th Oct

Pray for the support staff in the primary schools, matrons, security guards, clerical staff and cooks.

Thurs 27th Oct

Give thanks for our sponsors, for their faithful support for the children.

Fri 28th Oct

Pray that Gordon will be successful as he continues to put in applications to Trusts and Foundations for help with the funding of new projects.

Sat 29th Oct

Give thanks for the tools, donated by Tools with a Mission, which are due to arrive in Uganda next month for use at St Matia Mulumba.

Sun 30th Oct

Pray for Headteacher Josephine as she leads a very large primary school at St Kizito.

Mon 31st Oct

Pray for all teachers in the schools that they will teach creatively and inspire the

students in their care.
