Wednesday 1st |
Give thanks for the very good results achieved by the EVC children in end of Primary School national exams. |
Thursday 2nd |
Pray for Gonzaga, EVC Head of Operations, as she makes decisions about which secondary school is best for each child. |
Friday 3rd |
Pray for the staff in Uganda as they gather the information for their report to the EVC Board and, for Gonzaga, as she collates this. |
Saturday 4th |
Gordon and Phil are making an appeal in Buckingham this weekend. Pray for Phil as she speaks and that there will be a good and positive response to our work. |
Sunday 5th |
Give thanks for the faithfulness of our sponsors, particularly in these difficult economic times. |
Monday 6th |
Pray for Janet, our member of staff who is setting up a micro finance group at St Matia Mulumba, that she will be able to get this established and that parents will be enthusiastic about saving for their children’s needs. |
Tuesday 7th |
As schools return this month pray that all our children will be enthusiastic about returning to school and will be keen to learn and diligent in their studies. |
Wednesday 8th |
Pray for the staff in each of the schools that they will teach with enthusiasm and creativity. |
Thursday 9th |
Pray for Gonzaga in her role as Head of Operations, as she deals with major challenges due to the harsh economic conditions in Uganda at present. |
Friday 10th |
Pray for the parents and guardians of our children as they seek to provide for the school needs of their children. |
Saturday 11th |
In Father Boniface’s absence, our Trustee Father Michael is supporting Gonzaga in her work. Pray for him as he takes on this role. |
Sunday 12th |
Due to the economic climate in Uganda at present, school fees in most of the schools we use are rising considerably. Pray that God will continue to provide the money needed to ensure all our children can remain in school. |
Monday 13th |
Pray that God will provide new sources of income for the charity this year. |
Tuesday 14th |
Continue to pray for Josephine and Denis, headteachers in the two primary schools we use. |
Wednesday 15th |
Prossy, our project manager, is overseeing the completion of ‘finishing off’ work at St Matia Mulumba. Pray for her in this role. |
Thursday 16th |
EVC recently purchased some land so that offices and accommodation for staff and visitors can eventually be built. Pray that, as we look to Him, the money needed for this building project will be raised. |
Friday 17th |
Pray for the EVC Board Meeting taking place tomorrow. |
Saturday 18th |
This weekend Judi and Ted are returning to Burnt Oak, N.W.London to give another appeal. Pray for Judi as she speaks. |
Sunday 19th |
Pray that more people will be willing to take out child sponsorship. |
Monday 20th |
Secondary schools open again today after the long Christmas holiday. Pray that all our children will return for the beginning of this school year. |
Tuesday 21st |
Pray for Gonzaga and Janet as they oversee the return of children to school. |
Wednesday 22nd |
Some of our children are beginning a new school this term. Pray that they will settle quickly and adapt to new routines. |
Thursday 23rd |
Our next building project at St Matia Mulumba is a purpose built Nursery Department. Pray that the necessary funds for this will be raised so that building work can commence. |
Friday 24th |
Our staff in Uganda carry a heavy workload. Pray that God will give them the ability to deal with this and that each one will take initiative and be a support to the others on the team. |
Saturday 25th |
This weekend Judi and Ted are returning to Hornchurch, Essex to give another appeal. Pray for Judi as she speaks. |
Sunday 26th |
Pray that the Donor Care Programme, managed by Andy Hunt, produces major donors, who will help to fund the very significant increased costs of education in Uganda. |
Monday 27th |
Ted and Gordon are beginning a programme of approaching businesses who may support our work. Pray for them as they undertake this. |
Tuesday 28th |
This year there are many church appeals scheduled. Pray for stamina for Phil, Gordon, Ted and Judi and these will continue to be a blessing to each one of them. |
