April 2023

‘Great is Thy faithfulness, O God my Father…… All I have needed, Thy hand hath provided. Great is Thy faithfulness Lord unto me.’

Sat 1st April

The children’s Easter letters have been sent from Uganda. Pray for a speedy delivery to the UK.

Sun 2nd April

There is a new headteacher, Joseph, at St Matia Mulumba. Pray that he will quickly get used to the new environment.

Mon 3rd April

Pray for the staff at St Matia Mulumba, that they will work well as a team and that the school’s academic results will continue to improve.

Tues 4th April

Gordon and Ted have held a meeting with local Rotary representatives. Pray that this will result in access to local businesses and that further support for our work will be generated.

Wed 5th April

Gonzaga and Tom, Chairman of the School Committee at St Matia Mulumba, are working on the school’s Business Plan. Pray for God’s guidance in this.

Thurs 6th April

The School Committee at St Matia Mulumba is interviewing for a school nurse. Pray that they will make the right appointment.

Fri 7th April

Give thanks for the wise counsel of Father Boniface and Father Michael.

Sat 8th April

Pray for another volunteer who could assist Ramon with the development of the website.

Sun 9th April

He is not here ; He has risen, just as He said.’ Matthew 28:6

Mon 10th April

As the children are at home for the Easter holidays, pray for a good time with their families and, that parents and guardians, will see the benefit of their children being in school.

Tues 11th April

Give thanks for the six micro finance groups Janet has now established. There are plans for a further two groups to be formed. Pray, that those taking part, will see the value of saving for their children’s school needs and will attend regularly.

Wed 12th April

Pray for Ted as he oversees all aspects of the work of EVC.

Thurs 13th April

Give thanks for the staff in Uganda, Gonzaga, Prossy and Janet. Pray that they will use time well and develop a team spirit.

Fri 14th April

Pray for all the children as they go back to school for the summer term, that they will learn well and enjoy their schools.

Sat 15th April

Give thanks for the teaching staff in all the schools. May they be creative in their teaching.

Sun 16th April

There is a possibility of St Gregory’s RC church in South Croydon partnering with EVC. Please pray that this will come to fruition.

Mon 17th April

Pray that other churches will also want to partner with us.

Tues 18th April

Pray for God's guidance for Janet as she oversees each of the micro finance groups.

Wed 19th April

Pray for Gonzaga as she has responsibility for overseeing all aspects of the work of EVC.

Thurs 20th April

Both primary schools, St Matia Mulumba and St Kizito, have children who are not sponsored students. Pray that their families will be able to pay their fees this term.

Fri 21st April

Pray for Phil and Gordon giving an appeal in Peterborough this weekend.

Sat 22nd April

Pray that God will touch hearts and that the congregations will give generously.

Sun 23rd April

Pray for God’s protection and guidance for all the EVC staff.

Mon 24th April

Gonzaga and Prossy, Project Manager for EVC, need to visit the local council to talk about the possibility of connecting St Matia Mulumba to the local electricity and water supplies. Pray that God will give them courage and the right words to say in these meetings.

Tues 25th April

Pray that God will provide the much needed finances for future building projects.

Wed 26th April

Continue to pray that parents and children will grow in an understanding of the value of education.

Thurs 27th April

At church appeals, many people express an interest in sponsoring a child. Pray that they will follow through on this and take out sponsorship.

Fri 28th April

Pray for Josephine, headteacher at St Kizito, for God given abilities, as she oversees a large and thriving school.

Sat 29th April

Today, Phil and Gordon are visiting Harefield to speak at a church there. Pray for this time and for a good response, particularly to child sponsorship.

Sun 30th April

Give thanks for each of the EVC Trustees and pray for them as they oversee different aspects of the work of the charity.
