Fire-fighting Equipment

Every year in Uganda there are horrific fires in schools and tragic loss of life. A priority for EVC has been the installation of smoke alarms and firefighting equipment in all school buildings and dormitories in St Matia Mulumba and St Kizito Primary Schools.
Our school dormitories have fire- fighting equipment and smoke alarms. In 2022, with the completion of 5 new classrooms, we installed this important equipment here also.
The fire extinguishers and smoke alarms are regularly maintained, fire drills are regularly carried out with the children. Teachers and school administrators are taught how to combat different types of fires.
It’s a big responsibility for EVC and one we will action vigorously.
