Handwashing and Toilets

In 2022, EVC completed a toilet block for the school buildings in St Matia Mulumba Primary School. There were previously no toilets on site except for those adjacent to the dormitories and three very old toilets next the nursery building.
A very important addition to the toilets is a facility for rainwater collection and a tap for immediate handwashing as shown on the following photos.
The children are continuously encouraged to handwash, especially after using the toilets, to reduce the occurrence and spread of infectious diseases and to promote general health and well-being.
