‘I am the Lord your God, ……… who directs you in the way you should go’. Isaiah 48 : 17
Thursday 1st |
Give thanks for the church appeals, for the way they are a blessing to the Trustees taking part and for the way God has provided richly through them for the needs of the charity. |
Friday 2nd |
As school fees and general costs in Uganda are rising steeply, pray that God will provide other income streams which will help to meet the financial needs of the charity,. |
Saturday 3rd |
Today and tomorrow, Ted and Judi are giving an appeal in Bletchley. Pray for Judi as she speaks and that God will cause parishioners to give generously. |
Sunday 4th |
Pray that we will continue to see the number of children receiving sponsorship, grow. |
Monday 5th |
The second term of the academic year in Uganda is just beginning. Pray that parents will make sure that their children are back in school ready for the start of this new term. |
Tuesday 6th |
Pray for all our parents that they will try their best to provide their children with the scholastic materials they need in school. |
Wednesday 7th |
Continue to give thanks for the Micro Finance groups Janet has set up and pray that parents will see the importance of saving for their children’s needs. Pray for Janet as she leads this initiative. |
Thursday 8th |
Brenda and Jesca are sitting final university examinations. Pray that they will remember well what they have learned and that they will achieve good degrees. |
Friday 9th |
Pray for Josephine and Joseph, the headteachers at St Kizito and St Matia Mulumba Primary Schools, Pray they will plan wisely for the schools and will lead and motivate their teaching staff well. |
Saturday 10th |
Gordon and Phil are in Aylesbury this weekend to give an appeal. Pray that God will touch people’s hearts as Phil speaks and that many will respond positively and give to help meet the needs of our children. |
Sunday 11th |
As many of the EVC children come from families where education has not been seen as a priority, pray they will really value their time in school and will want to excel in their studies. |
Monday 12th |
Pray for all our children that they will concentrate well in class and understand the material they are being taught. |
Tuesday 13th |
Pray for the teaching staff that they will recognise those who do not find learning easy and be willing to give extra support to them in order to help their understanding. |
Wednesday 14th |
Gordon, Ted and Judi will attend a Rotary meeting in Bedford in July. Today they are meeting together to plan for this. Pray that they will have good ideas about how to present information about the work of EVC. |
Thursday 15th |
Continue to pray for good relationships between those on our staff team in Uganda, that they will be an encouragement and support to one another. |
Friday 16th |
The EVC Board Meeting takes place tomorrow morning. Pray for good connections via Zoom to Uganda and for God’s leading in decision making. |
Saturday 17th |
Pray for safety and stamina for Ted and Judi as they travel to Streatham, South London for a church appeal after the Board Meeting. Pray for Judi as she speaks. |
Sunday 18th |
Pray that there may be some parishioners who will be willing to sponsor a child. |
Monday 19th |
There is an increasing work load for the EVC staff in Uganda. Pray that they will stay healthy and be kept safe when they are travelling and that they will grow in trust in God for each aspect of their work. |
Tuesday 20th |
Give thanks for all the support given to EVC by Father Boniface and Father Michael. |
Wednesday 21st |
The newly appointed nurse at St Matia Mulumba is now on site. Give thanks for her and that this appointment is working out well. |
Thursday 22nd |
Pray that any health issues for our children may be identified and dealt with quickly and that where further treatment is needed funds may be available to cater for these needs. |
Friday 23rd |
This weekend Judi is speaking at Our Lady of Good Counsel RC Church in Hythe. Pray for safety when travelling. |
Saturday 24th |
Pray that God’s hand of blessing will be on this weekend and that God’s provision for the needs of the charity will again be seen. |
Sunday 25th |
Pray for a good atmosphere in each of the schools our children attend and that each child will grow to have an attitude of love, concern and care for others. |
Monday 26th |
Give thanks for the grant recently received from SPICMA. This, together with the money raised from Gordon’s marathon run, will provide six more water harvesting facilities for St Matia Mulumba. |
Tuesday 27th |
The headteacher at St Maria Mulumba, together with Prossy, has been to Kampala to order the text books and library books the school is in need of. Pray that the children will value these books and that reading will become something each one enjoys. |
Wednesday 28th |
Continue to pray for the parents and guardians of our children, that they will see the importance of education and encourage their children to give of their best in school. |
Thursday 29th |
Pray for all the teaching staff that they will be well motivated in their jobs and will prepare lessons well. |
Friday 30th |
Next month Ted is giving training courses to EVC staff, headteachers and EVC Committee members. Pray for him as he prepares for these. |
