July 2023

‘Listen for God’s voice…….He’s the one who will keep you on track’. Proverbs 3 : 6 The Message

Saturday 1st

Pray for Phil Lland speaking at churches in Halstead today and tomorrow and for safety as she and Gordon travel there.

Sunday 2nd

Ask God to touch the hearts of those in the congregations and, that people will give generously to the needs of the children.

Monday 3rd

Pray for Josephine and Joseph, headteachers in the two primary schools, that they and their staff will make every effort to ensure children obtain good results in school.

Tuesday 4th

Pray for all teaching staff that, despite a lack of equipment, they will find ways to teach creatively.

Wednesday 5th

Brenda and Jesca have been sitting final exams in university. Pray for them as they now look for employment.

Thursday 6th

Tonight there is a Donor Care meeting in Wembley. Pray for Andy as he leads this and, that  those who come, would have a greater understanding of our work.

Friday 7th

This weekend Judi is speaking in Harefield. Pray that through these visits to churches God will continue to provide for the needs of the charity.

Saturday 8th

Pray that more people will be willing to sponsor children in education.

Sunday 9th

Our schools have many needs. St Matia Mulumba is seeking to find new ways of raising income for the school. Pray that they will think creatively and have good ideas which they can implement.

Monday 10th

Give thanks for all those parents who have joined one of the SACCO groups. Pray that they will attend faithfully and be able to save at each meeting. Pray they will see the value of doing this.

Tuesday 11th

The text books, library books and the first ten computers have arrived on site at St Matia Mulumba. Pray that the children will benefit from using these new additions to the school.

Wednesday 12th

Pray that all this new equipment will be kept safe and that Gonzaga and Prossy will be able to source different ways of securing the buildings which can be installed quickly.

Thursday 13th

Continue to pray that parents and guardians will learn to value education and that they will see the benefits for their children.

Friday 14th

Tomorrow Judi is speaking at a church in Orpington where there are already parishioners sponsoring children. Pray that others will be willing to help a child go to school.

Saturday 15th

Pray that those in the congregations will give generously to support the charity’s work.

Sunday 16th

Give thanks for the staff in Uganda, Gonzaga, Prossy and Janet. Pray that they will be guided by the Holy Spirit and work well together as a team.

Monday 17th

Pray that each child will enjoy being in school, that they will appreciate the opportunity they have been given and will develop an attitude of diligence and a desire to succeed.

Tuesday 18th

Tonight Andy, Ted and Judi are in Swindon for a Donor Care evening. Pray for this time, that it will be informative and, that those who attend, will gain a good understanding of our work in Uganda.

Wednesday 19th

The staff in Uganda are carrying a large workload. Pray that they will manage their time well and that they will support one another in the many tasks they need to fulfil.

Thursday 20th

This morning Ted, Gordon and Judi are making a presentation at the breakfast meeting of Bedford Rotary. Pray that this will result in a good response and that the group and, individuals in it, will see ways they can support our work.

Friday 21st

One of our sponsors is keen to help mothers in the community develop sewing skills which could be used to benefit the schools and bring in much needed income for the women. She will be liaising with Janet and Gonzaga about this. Pray that they will be able to find a way forward with this project.

Saturday 22nd

Not all children in our primary schools are funded through EVC Uganda. Pray that the parents of those funded privately will find ways to raise the money for their school fees and for their school needs.

Sunday 23rd

This evening Judi is speaking about the work of EVC Uganda, over Zoom, to members of a worship group. Pray that this will go well and that there will be a positive response from those attending.

Monday 24th

This month, Ted is delivering several workshops, over Zoom, to the EVC staff, school headteachers, Father Boniface, Father Michael and members of the EVC Committee. Pray these will be good times of interaction and learning and, that those who take part, will be motivated to implement what they learn.

Tuesday 25th

Give thanks for the very good working relationships within EVC and pray that these will be maintained.

Wednesday 26th

Roger is hoping to begin a degree in Civil Engineering in August. Pray that he will gain a place on the course.

Thursday 27th

Give thanks that Batate Maria passed her resit in Mathematics and will now be able to join the diploma course in Tailoring and Textiles. Pray that she will enjoy this course and will gain more skills which will enable her to develop her own business alongside studying.

Friday 28th

Recently the EVC staff had to move offices. The new office connection to the internet is not good and the office may, at some point, be needed again by the Parish in Kyansi. Our Trustee, Father Michael, is investigating whether there is a more suitable base for the staff which would they could use until permanent offices and accommodation can be built for them. Pray this situation is resolved satisfactorily.

Saturday 29th

Continue to give thanks for all our child sponsors, for their faithful giving and their support for the children.

Sunday 30th

School fees in Uganda have risen considerably this past year. Pray that God will continue to provide the extra money needed to keep all our children in school.

Monday 31st

Pray for Henry and Praxeda, university students in Kampala, that they will enjoy their courses and achieve good results.
