November Prayer Requests

November 2023

May my prayer be set before you like incense; may the lifting up of my hands be like the evening sacrifice. Psalm 141 : 2

Wed 1st

Senior 4 children are continuing to take their GCSE exams. Pray for all of them, that they will be able to recall what they have been taught.

Thurs 2nd

Pray especially for Elizabeth sitting these exams, as she has pain throughout her body and finds holding the pen to write answers very difficult. Pray particularly, that she will have the physical strength she needs for this.

Fri 3rd

Remember the staff in all the schools used by our EVC children, that they will give quality education to the children in their care.

Sat 4th

All children, not in Primary 7 or Senior 4, will have tests towards the end of this term. Pray that they will have good success in these and that their end of year reports will reflect good progress, so that they can move up to the next year group.

Sun 5th

Many children in the two primary schools have parents who are responsible for paying school fees themselves. At times, some do not have the money needed. Pray that God will provide a way for them to raise the outstanding fees by the end of this term.

Mon 6th

Tomorrow those children in Primary 7 begin their primary leaving exams. Pray for all of them at this time and, particularly for Irene, who has had recurring health problems. Pray that by now she will have recovered sufficiently to be able to concentrate on the tests.

Tues 7th

Gordon and Phil Lland and Yinka Olaniran are flying to Uganda today for a governance visit. Please pray for a safe journey and, for stamina, for what will be a very busy schedule.

Wed 8th

The governance visit to Uganda will be a very busy time for the visitors, EVC staff, schools and clergy. Pray for a worthwhile visit and that there will be sufficient time to fulfil the whole schedule.

Thurs 9th

Pray for the meeting with EVC parents on Saturday, that many will be able to attend  and that they will understand and take time to consider all that will be discussed.

Fri 10th

Today Gordon, Phil and Yinka are carrying out a project review, past present and future. Pray for a clear understanding of what has been achieved and an ability to know the way forward.

Sat 11th

Remember the meeting with parents of EVC children taking place today.

Sun 12th

Continue to pray that God will be the centre of all our work and that Trustees will be guided by Him when important decisions have to be made.

Mon 13th

Pray for our Trustees in Uganda today, as they meet with the School Management Committee at St Matia Mulumba and later with the Bishop of Masaka.

Tues 14th

Continue to pray for our sponsored children that they will value the opportunity they have for education and be motivated each term to return to school.

Wed 15th

Today Yinka leaves to travel to Entebbe. Pray for safety for him, Janet and Father Boniface as they make this journey.

Thurs 16th

Continue to pray that more new sponsors will be found to support children in education.

Fri 17th

Ted has been putting together a series of workshops which he will hold via Zoom with staff, governors, headteachers and priests in Uganda. These have been delayed due to a big workload. Pray that he will be able to finalise these and that dates will be set for the workshops to take place.

Sun 19th

Pray for the headteachers of the primary schools, Josephine and Joseph, as they manage a large number of staff and children.

Mon 20th

At St Matia Mulumba Primary School they are beginning to think about how they can fundraise. Pray that God will give good ideas that will bring success.

Fri 24th

Continue to pray that teachers will know the children in their care well and that they will step in to help when something has not been understood.

Sat 25th

Pray for the EVC staff, Gpnzaga, Prossy and Janet, for self motivation and, that they will be encouraging to one another.

Sun 26th

Building of a new nursery department at St Matia Mulumba will begin soon. Please pray for Gordon as he oversees this work and for Prossy as she manages the building work and negotiates costings for the different stages of the build.

Mon 27th

Give thanks for the faithfulness of our sponsors and for the support they give to the children they help.

Tues 28th

Continue to pray for Father Boniface and Father Michael and give thanks for their wise counsel.

Wed 29th

As the end of term is approaching, pray for our children as they travel home. That parents will see the difference education is making to them and that they will be a help to their families during this longer holiday.

Thurs 30th

Next month some of our older students will complete their courses and move out into the working world. Pray that each one will be able to find a job.
