December 2023

‘Call to Me, and I will answer you’. Jeremiah 33 : 3 NKJV

Fri 1st

Give thanks for safe travel during Gordon and Phil’s governance visit and for an excellent time visiting the projects.

Sat 2nd

Today Phil is speaking at a church in Cricklewood and Judi at a church in South Chingford. Pray that God would bless these times and people would give generously.

Sun 3rd

Pray that there will new people willing to sponsor children in education.

Mon 4th

The long school holidays over Christmas have already begun. Pray for all our children during this time at home, that they would be kept safe and well.

Tues 5th

There are extra stresses for parents during school holiday times. Pray that they will be able to provide the necessities the children have during this time and that all children will have enough to eat.

Wed 6th

Give thanks for the provision of the finances for the new Nursery building at St Matia Mulumba.

Thurs 7th

Pray for the headteachers and teaching staff in the two primary schools during this holiday - for rest and relaxation and God’s protection.

Fri 8th

Pray for good results for those children who have sat end of primary leaving exams and the equivalent of GCSE.

Sat 9th

Give thanks for all EVC staff, Trustees, volunteers, sponsors and donors and for God’s blessing on our work.

Sun 10th

We are very grateful for our staff team in Uganda. Pray for them that they will know God’s guidance as they seek to develop the work there.

Mon 11th

Pray that all our sponsored children will be a help to their parents and guardians during this school holiday and that parents and guardians will see the difference education is making to their children.

Tues 12th

Give thanks for the church appeals already in the diary for 2024. Pray for Ted as he continues to work on gaining another 10 -12 for this next year; that he will be successful.

Wed 13th

Continue to pray for Janet as she oversees the SACCO finance groups, that more parents will see the benefit of these and join and that each group member will make saving for their children’s needs a priority.

Thurs 14th

This past few months has been a very busy time for our staff, Gonzaga, Prossy and Janet. Pray that during these next weeks they will have time for rest and an opportunity to spend time with family and friends.

Fri 15th

Pray for the Trustees of EVC that they will make wise decisions as they seek to develop the charity and that they will be sensitive to God’s guidance.

Sat 16th

Pray for Father Boniface and Father Michael during this very busy Christmas season in the church. Give thanks for all their support and help in the work of EVC.

Sun17th

Janet will soon be sending children’s letters and reports to the UK for distribution. Pray that these will come quickly and not be held up in the post.

Mon 18th

Pray for the school committees at both primary schools (the governing bodies), for wise decision making and the giving of good support to the headteachers and staff.

Tues 19th

Continue to pray for a good working relationship between Prossy, Janet and Gonzaga and that they will be supportive of one another.

Wed 20th

Pray for those EVC sponsored children who have completed education this month, that each one will be successful in obtaining a good job.

Thurs 21st

When the results of primary leaving exams and GCSE are known, Gonzaga will be busy making decisions about the right school for each child. Pray for God’s wisdom for her in this time consuming task.

Fri 22nd

As students complete education, pray that they will maintain contact with Gonzaga and understand the positive input they can have into the lives of those still studying.

Sat 23rd

Pray for Henry and Roger continuing to study in university.

Sun 24th

Pray that all teaching staff will return to school at the beginning of the new term and that the headteachers will not face a situation of looking for new teaching staff at short notice.

Mon 25th

‘Today in the town of David, a Saviour has been born to you, He is Christ the Lord’. Luke 2 : 11 NIV

Tues 26th

Many of our sponsored children are studying  in vocational institutes. Pray that they will look forward to the new school year and that their courses will equip them for the working world.

Wed 27th

Pray for Joseph and Josephine, headteachers of the primary schools we use, that they will have the ability to give good direction to their teaching staff and will create a good working atmosphere.

Thurs 28th

Pray for Prossy as the building of the new Nursery will begin soon. Pray that she will be able to get good prices for supplies needed and that the workmen will be on site each day they are needed.

Fri 29th

As the new church appeals programme will soon begin, pray that God will bless these times and that many new sponsors will come forward to sponsor children.

Sat 30th

St Matia Mulumba school is considering ways in which they can fund raise within the local and wider community. Pray for good ideas and that God will bless these endeavours.

Sun 31st

As work on the new Nursery at St Matia Mulumba begins, pray for Gordon as he seeks to support Prossy and Gonzaga.
