February 2024

‘In the morning Lord, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait expectantly’. Psalm 5 : 3 NIV

Thurs 1st

Give thanks that the Primary Leaving Exam results are out and pray for wise decision making as to the schools which are right for the children to move to.

Frit 2nd

Tomorrow is the EVC Board meeting. Pray for good discussions and right decision making.

Sat 3rd

Pray also for those who sat Senior 4 exams, that it will be clear what the next step in their education should be. Pray for Gonzaga as she plans the next step fin education for these teenagers.

Sun 4th

These decisions are taken in conjunction with conversations with parents and guardians. Pray that the parents will be willing to listen to the advice given by the EVC staff.

Mon 5th

Pray for the parents that they will be able to provide the school needs their children have this term.

Tues 6th

Pray that all children will come back to school for the beginning of the new school year and that Janet, Prossy and Gonzaga will not need to follow up on any who are missing.

Wed 7th

Give thanks for safety for the teaching staff during the long Christmas holiday and pray for them as they settle back into the new term.

Thurs 8th

There is a need for an extra member of staff in Uganda who can assist with the work on finances, particularly administering the children’s accounts. Pray that the right person will be found to fill this post.

Fri 9th

Pray for the teaching staff in each of the schools our children attend, that they will be fully committed to their jobs, well prepared and enthusiastic in teaching their subjects.

Sat 10th

This weekend Phil and Gordon are giving an appeal for EVC Uganda in Oundle. Pray for Phil as she speaks and that people will be motivated to give generously.

Sun11th

Pray for all the staff who are involved with administration in the primary schools,, that they will plan effectively for this term and the whole school year.

Mon 12th

Pray that Ted will complete the preparation of the workshops to be delivered to EVC and school staff in Uganda and that dates will be set when these can take place.

Tues13th

Pray for good connections over Zoom for these meetings.

Wed 14th

Irene and Elizabeth, two of our sponsored children, have both experienced ill health during this past year. Pray that they will experience God’s healing hand and that both will be well enough to being the next stage of their education, Irene in secondary school and Elizabeth in nursing school.

Thurs 15th

Father Boniface and Father Michael both have very busy schedules. Pray for strength for them in their jobs and that they will have time to continue to give necessary support to the EVC staff.

Fri 16th

Continue to give thanks for our sponsors and donors, for their faithfulness in supporting our work.

Sat 17th

Today Phil and gordon are travelling to Oakham to speak about EVC. Pray that some of the congregation will be willing to sponsor children in their education.

Sun 18th

Give thanks that work on the new Nursery department at St Matia Mulumba is able to begin. Pray for Prossy as she oversees this work.

Mon 19th

Pray that the building work will proceed according to plan and that it will not be hampered by bad weather.

Tues 20th

As work on a second toilet block is also being carried out, pray that this will be completed well and soon be in use.

Wed 21st

This year there is a very busy schedule of church appeals. Pray for Phil, Gordon, Judi and Ted, that they may be given the stamina and capacity to deal with this heavy workload.

Thurs 22nd

Give thanks for new volunteers, Eve and David and pray that they will have the time needed to contribute much to the work of EVC.

Frit 23rd

Continue to pray for those parents involved in the Micro Finance groups, that they will be faithful in attending the meetings and in saving for the needs their children have.

Sat 24th

This weekend Judi and Ted are travelling to Cannock to speak at St Mary’s RC church. Pray for safety on the journey and for Judi as she speaks.

Sun 25th

Continue to pray that this year we will see the number of children sponsored grow and that the money needed to develop the projects in Uganda will be raised.

Mon 26th

Give thanks for Gordon’s expertise in building work and pray that he will be a real support to Prossy in planning the programme of building work on the new Nursery.

Tues 27th

Pray that Jesus will continue to be at the centre of all we do and that we will look to Him for guidance during this coming year.

Wed 28th

Pray for our EVC staff in Uganda as they carry out the many different aspects of the work.

Thurs 29th

We have heard of many accidents on the roads this past year, particularly when using boda bodas - motor cycle taxis. Pray for our staff to be kept safe when travelling.
