‘The Lord ………..hears the prayer of the righteous’. Proverbs 15 : 29b NIV

Mon 1st

Give thanks that the children and staff, who made the sponsored walk to Namugongo at the beginning of June, were kept safe.

Tues 2nd

Ask God to answer the prayers the children and staff made there.

Wed 3rd

A Fundraising and Marketing committee has been set up in Uganda to raise funds for St Matia Mulumba Primary School. Pray for more interested and committed people to join this committee and, for those in the local communities, to become interested in supporting the school.

Thurs 4th

Continue to pray for the building of the new nursery at St Matia Mulumba, that the work will be done well and will be completed on time.

Fri 5th

Some EVC children completed their studies at the end of 2023. Of these, some are still needing to find jobs. Pray that God would provide good jobs, just the right job for each one.

Sat 6th

Pray that all those who completed studies, will maintain contact with EVC staff and their sponsors, and see this as important.

Sun 7th

Pray for all teachers in the schools where our children study, to be committed to their work and aim towards academic excellence for the children.

Mon 8th

For our two primary schools, pray that results at the end of primary school will continue to improve and that this will cause more pupils to be enrolled.

Tues 9th

Continue to pray that parents and children will continue to grow in their understanding of the importance of a good education and really value the opportunities they have.

Wed 10th

Pray for Chris, our new Treasurer, as he gets to grips with the different aspects of the job.

Thurs 11th

The cost of education in Uganda has risen considerably in the past two years. Pray for those approaching vocational training after Senior 4, that their parents and guardians will be able to find ways of contributing to these costs.

Fri 12th

Travelling on roads in Uganda can be extremely dangerous. Pray that those who need to travel by boda boda (motor cycle taxi) and car, will be kept safe.

Sat 13th

Pray for all school staff, parents and children that they will experience good health.

Sun 14th

The work load for EVC staff and Trustees is big. Pray that God will give the capacity to each one to fulfil their duties and, that good progress will be made in taking the Charity forward.

Mon 15th

Pray that in all decision making the Trustees and staff will be led by God.

Tues 16th

Recently, EVC has been given a new software system. Pray that those who need to use this will quickly understand how it functions and, that it will cut the amount of time needed to carry out tasks.

Wed 17th

In July and August there are fewer church appeals. Pray that Gordon, Phil, Ted and Judi will be able to regain energy during this time and be ready for a very busy autumn.

Thurs 18th

Continue to pray for Josephine and Joseph, headteachers in our two primary schools, that they will lead well and, be guided by God in their decision making.

Fri 19th

Pray for any students who find learning difficult, that their teachers will take time to have extra input with them, to help them understand

Sat 20th

Father Boniface and Father Michael have extremely busy schedules. Pray that they will have the stamina needed for the tasks they need to accomplish.

Sun 21st

Some children are new in school this term. Pray that they will settle well and make new friends.

Mon 22nd

Give thanks for the generosity of congregations at church appeals this year and, for those who have begun to sponsor a child.

Tues 23rd

Pray for those currently studying in vocational institutes, that they will learn well and focus fully on gaining a qualification which will equip them for the working world.

Wed 24th

 Pray for good health for the EVC staff and for Trustees and volunteers.

Thurs 25th

Our children have many opportunities for extra curricular activities in the schools they are in. Pray that they will involve themselves in these and learn new skills.

Fri 26th

Pray for Henry and Roger studying in university, that they will value this opportunity and learn well.

Sat 27th

EVC’s main source of income for projects is from church appeals. Pray that God will lead Ted, Gordon and Chris as they discuss how to develop other streams of income.

Sun 28th

Eventually, EVC will need to build an office and accommodation block in order to better deliver the services they offer. Pray that God will provide the money which will be needed for this.

Mon 29th

Pray for all the teachers that they will have creative ideas of how to teach the children in their care.

Tues 30th

Pray that our sponsored children will become confident members of their schools, who seek to give of their best in all situations.

Wed 31st

The next EVC Board Meeting will take place on Saturday 3rd August. Please pray for all our discussions.
