EVC Uganda Prayer Requests August 2024

Thurs 1st

Give thanks that the work on the new Nursery building at St Matia Mulumba is progressing well and pray that the work will continue to be completed on schedule.

Fri 2nd

Tomorrow is the EVC Board Meeting. Pray for Ted as he leads this, for a good connection to Uganda over Zoom and for a sense of God’s presence in the meeting.

Sat 3rd

Term 2 will end towards the end of this month. Pray that the teachers will be able to complete the delivery of the Term 2 syllabus and that children will be enabled to perform well in the end of term exams.

Sun 4th

Continue to pray for Joseph and Josephine, headteachers in our two primary schools, that they will be enabled by God to give clear direction to their members of staff and lead well.

Mon 5th

Pray that teachers will know well the ability of the children in their classes and that they will be able to identify areas in which some children may need extra help.

Tues 6th

Pray for firm friendships among the children in the schools and that they will enjoy being in the schools they attend.

Wed 7th

Pray for those in university whose new term began last Saturday. Pray for good understanding of what is taught and a God given ability to perform to a high standard.

Thurs 8th

Tomorrow is the 10th anniversary of the founding of EVC Uganda. Give thanks for these past 10 years and for all that God has enabled the charity to do.

Fri 9th

Tomorrow and Sunday, Ted and Judi are in Worcester for a church appeal. Pray for safety as they travel and for a positive response from the parishioners.

Sat 10th

Pray for Judi as she speaks and that new sponsors will be found to sponsor more children in Uganda.

Sun 11th

Continue to pray for Prossy as she oversees the work on the new Nursery, particularly that she will get acceptable prices for the materials she needs to purchase.

Mon 12th

Pray for all our secondary school children, for a positive attitude to learning and a motivation to succeed in their studies.

Tues 13th

St Matia Mulumba has many plans for this year. Pray that God will enable the staff and children to fulfil these.

Wed 14th

Elizabeth and Irene, two of our older students have suffered with ill health during this past year. Pray that they may experience God’s healing hand and fully recover from their illnesses.

Thurs 15th

Give thanks for all our sponsors, for their faithful support for the children and for their commitment to our work.

Fri 16th

Pray for Janet as she continues to oversee the SACCO groups and that parents will make every effort to save for their children’s needs in school.

Sat 17th

Pray for more parents to join these groups and for more groups to be formed.

Sun 18th

Pray for the EVC Trustees as they administer the work of the Charity in the UK.

Mon 19th

Give thanks for Father Boniface and Father Michael, for their commitment to the work in Uganda and for their support to the EVC staff.

Tues 20th

The EVC staff have many responsibilities. Pray that they will have the energy needed fo deal with the work load and that they will have time for relaxation, particualrly during the time schools are closed for holidays.

Wed 21st

The cost of education in Uganda has risen sharply. Pray that God will provide new income streams, so that sufficient money is available for all school fees and for new building projects.

Thurs 22nd

Term 2 finishes tomorrow and children will be travelling home for the school holidays. Pray for safety as they travel, as well as safety while they are at home.

Fri 23rd

During the time the children are at home, pray they will take every opportunity to be a help to their parents and guardians.

Sat 24th

Today Gordon and Phil are giving an appeal in Swindon. Pray for Phil as she speaks and for a positive response from the congregations.

Sun 25th

Parents are encouraged to provide scholastic materials for their children. Pray that they will gather what is needed for the new term in good time, so that their children return to school on time with everything they need.

Mon 26th

A Fundraising and Marketing Committee has been set up in Uganda. Pray that the members of this committee will have good ideas about how to raise funds locally and, that God will encourage them with some success.

Tues 27th

Pray that all teachers will return to school next term and that neither Josephine nor Joseph will be in a position of looking for new staff at short notice.

Wed 28th

Pray that all teaching staff will use some of the school holiday to prepare well for the new term.

Thurs 29th

Next month, Ted will begin putting together a list of church appeals for 2025. Pray that many priests will be willing to have an appeal and that the list of appeals will come together quickly.

Fri 30th

We are grateful for the contractors working on the new Nursery. Pray that they will have good health and maintain good relationships with Prossy and the staff in the school.

Sat 31st

September will be an extremely busy month for church appeals. Pray for all involved in these, for stamina and for safety in all the travelling.
