Sun 1st |
September is a very busy time with church appeals taking place every weekend. Please pray for these times and that God will give the stamina needed for each weekend. |
Mon 2nd |
The schools in Uganda are currently on school holidays. Pray that the children will be kept safe during the time they are at home and, that they will help their parents and guardians as much as possible. |
Tues 3rd |
Pray that parents will make it a priority to gather together the things their children need for the beginning of the new term. |
Wed 4th |
The Ugandan government has said that all teachers must have a degree qualification in order to teach. Pray for the teachers who are using the current holiday to upgrade their qualifications. |
Thurs 5th |
Pray for Joseph, the Headteacher at St Matia Mulumba, who is also taking courses during this holiday. |
Fri 6th |
Pray that each teacher will acquire new skills which will help them deliver the curriculum in better and different ways. |
Sat 7th |
This weekend Judi and Ted and giving an appeal in Hastings. Pray for safety as they travel and, for a positive response from the congregations. |
Sun 8th |
Pray that we will continue to see new people beginning to sponsor children in education. |
Mon 9th |
Give thanks for our staff in Uganda, Gonzaga, Prossy and Janet and pray for them as they undertake a very busy schedule. |
Tues 10th |
As the new school term begins soon, pray that all teaching staff will return and that the headteachers will not be in a position of looking for new staff at short notice. |
Wed 11th |
Work continues on the building of the new Nursery at St Matia Mulumba. Pray that the contractors will work, quickly, efficiently and, to a high standard. |
Thurs 12th |
Father Boniface and Father Michael both have very busy schedules. Give thanks for the time they still give to the work of EVC and the support they are to the staff. |
Fri 13th |
Give thanks for the good relationship enjoyed between the EVC staff in Uganda and the EVC Trustees. |
Sat 14th |
Today Judi and Ted are travelling to Goring on Sea to speak about EVC. Pray that parishioners will give generously to our work. |
Sun 15th |
Pray that God will motivate members of the congregations to take out child sponsorship. |
Mon 16th |
Today the primary school children return to school from holiday. Pray that each child will be there for the beginning of term and that parents/guardians will see this as a priority. |
Tues 17th |
This month Ted is beginning the work of gaining church appeals for 2025. Pray that many priests will be willing to allow us to speak about the work of EVC. |
Wed 18th |
Continue to pray for the SACCO groups of parents who are seeking to save money for their children’s needs in schools. |
Thurs 19th |
Pray for Prossy as she continues to oversee the work on the building of the new Nursery, for good relationships with the workmen and, an ability to get good prices for materials needed. |
Fri 20th |
EVC has a new database system. Pray that this will work well and will help Chris and Judi particularly, with the work they need to carry out. |
Sat 21st |
This weekend there are church appeals in Sedgefield, Birmingham and Parsons Green, London. Pray for Phil and Judi as they speak. |
Sun 22nd |
Pray that God will continue to bless the appeals and continue to provide for the needs of the EVC work. |
Mon 23rd |
The remaining schools return from holiday today. Pray that all children will come back and will be positive about this new term. |
Tues 24th |
Pray that during this new term the children will have a positive attitude to learning and enjoy the things they are being taught. |
Wed 25th |
Pray for all the support staff in the schools, matrons, cooks, bursars and night watchmen. |
Thurs 26th |
Pray for those students who have completed courses and are now job hunting, that they will be successful in acquiring good jobs. |
Fri 27th |
Continue to pray for Josephine and Joseph as they head up the two primary schools. |
Sat 28th |
Today, Ted and Judi are travelling to Dover to give a return appeal. Pray for this time and for Judi as she speaks. |
Sun 29th |
Pray for all teachers as they plan lessons, that they will have creative ideas for ways to present information. |
Mon 30th |
This next month Ted will begin delivering a number of workshops over Zoom to staff, headteachers and school governors. Pray for these times, that the content will be relevant and helpful for those attending. |
