EVC Uganda Prayer Requests, October 2024

Tuesday 1st

A ew school term has just begun. Give thanks that most of the children reported back, also the teachers and support staff. Pray that Gonzaga will be able to follow up on those who are not back.

Wednesday 2nd

This is a very short term and much needs to be accomplished. Pray particularly for those who will sit public examinations at the end of Primary 7, Senior 4 and Senior 6.

Thursday 3rd

The school fees for those children who are not sponsored at St Matia Mulumba are paid by their parents. Pray they will pay these on time so that school can meet all the obligations it has.

Friday 4th

Pray for Gonzaga, Father Boniface and Father Michael as they plan a celebratory picnic in December for all the EVC children, past and present. Pray that God will be in all the details for this and will provide the finances needed.

Saturday 5th

Continue to pray for Prossy as she oversees the building of the new Nursery at St Matia Mulumba. Pray there will be no hold-ups with the build and that this facility will be ready for the beginning of the new school year in February.

Sunday 6th

The cost of goods in Uganda is rising and this affects the families we work with, the schools and their costs and, the price of materials for use on projects such as the Nursery. Pray that the economy may improve and that each one will find a way to meet the costs they have.

Monday 7th

Continue to pray for Ted as he approaches priests to ask for church appeals next year. Pray that God will open doors which no man can shut.

Tuesday 8th

Pray for all our sponsored children that they will enjoy school and learning and that they will concentrate well in their classes.

Wednesday 9th

Some of our sponsored children have completed studies and are still job hunting. Pray that God will provide the perfect place for each one of them.

Thursday 10th

Today Judi and Ted are giving a 5 minute presentation to those who attend Biggleswade Deanery meetings. Pray for her as she speaks, and that those present will vote in favour of EVC Uganda being the Deanery project for 2025.

Friday 11th

Rising costs affect how much parents can save through the SACCO groups. Pray that Janet will be able to encourage those taking part in these groups and that parents will make saving a priority.

Saturday 12th

There is a need to find new income streams in order to meet all the obligations the charity has. Pray for Gordon, Chris and Ted as they discuss an approach to different businesses.

Sunday 13th

Give thanks for David, for all the help and time he has given in setting up the new database.

Monday 14th

Several students are studying nursing. Pray that they will understand what they are taught and be able to apply it when they are working on the wards.

Tuesday 15th

Continue to pray for the headteachers in all the schools our sponsored children attend, that they will be guided by God in their planning and work for a happy learning environment for the children.

Wednesday 16th

Give thanks for our staff team in Uganda, Gonzaga, Prossy and Janet. Pray for them with the very large work load each one carries.

Thursday 17th

Once the build of the new Nursery is complete, there will be a need for much new equipment. Pray that God will provide the finances necessary for this.

Friday 18th

This weekend, Judi and Ted are travelling to Beckenham to speak about EVC Uganda. Pray for safety on the roads and for a good journey without hold-ups.

Saturday 19th

Pray that each of the church congregations will give generously this weekend and that new people will be willing to sponsor children in their education.

Sunday 20th

Give thanks for all that has been achieved during these past 10 years since EVC Uganda was formed as a charity. Particularly give thanks for Gods faithfulness and for his provision of our needs.

Monday 21st

Agnes is studying for her diploma in midwifery. Pray that she will learn well and enjoy this course.

Tuesday 22nd

Give thanks for all the support Father Boniface and Father Michael give to the staff team in Uganda and pray for them in their work as priests.

Wednesday 23rd

Henry and Roger are studying in university. Pray that they will enjoy their courses and  the experience of being in a university environment and, that they will apply themselves well to learning and retaining their course content.

Thursday 24th

Some students are taking part in an apprenticeship in different garages. Pray that the practical experience they are gaining will equip them for finding a job.

Friday 25th

Pray for Irene and Elizabeth, two of our students who suffer with ill health from time to time. May they experience Gods healing hand.

Saturday 26th

Today is the EVC Uganda AGM and Board Meeting. Pray for a good connection to Uganda over Zoom and that God will guide in any decisions which need to be made.

Sunday 27th

Pray for the teaching staff and school administrators, for guidance in all decision making as they work towards academic excellence.

Monday 28th

Prossy is in the process of purchasing the paving stones for the school site at St Matia Mulumba. Pray she will find what is needed at a good price and that work on laying the paving will be able to be carried out in December.

Tuesday 29th

There is a need for a fourth member of staff in Uganda, who will take charge of all the childrens accounts. Pray that as this job is readvertised, the right person for the job will be found.

Wednesday 30th

Pray that the schools will participate fully in the celebration picnic in December and that the EVC staff and Committee will know Gods guidance in all the details of this day.

Thursday 31st

Give thanks for all our sponsors and donors, for their faithfulness in supporting the children in school.
