Friday 1st

Pray for Ted as he continues to put together the programme of church appeals for 2025, that God will open doors for these.

Saturday 2nd

Gordon and Phil are speaking at a church appeal in Gloucester today. Pray for safety in travel and that many will give generously to EVC’s work.

Sunday 3rd

Continue to pray that more people will come forward to sponsor new children in school.

Monday 4th

This term many children will be sitting national examinations for the end of Primary 7, Senior 4 and Senior 6, plus some of those in vocational schools. Please pray that they will study carefully for these and be able to remember the things they have been taught.

Tuesday 5th

A special celebration will be held at St Matia Mulumba on 9th December, to commemorate 10 years since EVC Uganda was formed. This will be for all EVC children and their relatives. Pray that God will be in all the planning for this occasion.

Wednesday 6th

At this celebration it is hoped to raise money to enable St Matia Mulumba to pipe water onto the school site from the government supply. Pray that those present will give generously.

Thursday 7th

Give thanks that the building of the new Nursery has progressed well and that it will be ready for the children to use next term.

Friday 8th

There will also be end of term tests taking place this term, for students not sitting public exams. Pray that each student will give of their best in these

Saturday 9th

This weekend Judi and Ted are speaking at St Joseph’s Bedford and Our Lady’s, Kempston. Pray for this time, that parishioners will give generously to our work.

Sunday 10th

There are always children needing support to go to school. Pray for more people to be willing to take out child sponsorship.

Monday 11th

St Matia Mulumba primary school has a plot of land on which they have planted coffee plants. Eventually, when the coffee crop can be harvested, the plan is to to sell the coffee to gain income for the school. Pray for this initiative.

Tuesday 12th

Eve, one of our volunteers, has been marketing this initiative through a local coffee shop. Pray that customers will be motivated to support this.

Wednesday 13th

Plaxeda, who completed university studies earlier this year, is wanting to find employment as a teacher in Kampala. There is much competition for these jobs. Please pray that God will open the door to the right job.

Thursday 14th

Pray for those parents who belong to the SACCO groups, that they will be motivated to save what they can towards their children’s needs in school.

Friday 15th

Gordon is going to be approaching organisations for funding towards the coffee growing initiative and also towards more water harvesting and toilet facilities at St Matia Mulumba. Pray for positive results from this.

Saturday 16th

Give thanks for Chris, our new Treasurer. Pray for him as he seeks to manage EVC’s finances wisely and in a way that is pleasing to God.

Sunday 17th

Continue to give thanks for all our sponsors, for their faithfulness in supporting our children.

Monday 18th

Pray for all the teaching staff in our primary schools, that they will prepare well for the lessons they teach and help each child to understand the lesson content and succeed.

Tuesday 19th

Continue to pray for headteachers Josephine and Joseph, for all the responsibilities they carry in motivating and giving direction to staff, overseeing school finances and planning for each term.

Wednesday 20th

Give thanks for the many opportunities our sponsored children have in school and pray that they will make full use of the different experiences which are offered through music, dance, drama, debating and sport.

Thursday 21st

Give thanks for our Board of Trustees and pray for them in their decision making.

Friday 22nd

Give thanks for the many churches who have given the opportunity for appeals this year and for those who have given generously to these. Thank God for the way he has blessed these times.

Saturday 23rd

Our older children attend many different secondary schools and vocational institutions. Pray that they will apply themselves well to their studies and that each one will achieve their full potential.

Sunday 24th

We are very fortunate to have Gonzaga, Prossy and Janet as our staff team in Uganda. They have a big work load. Pray they will be able to plan their work well and will be a support and encouragement to one another.

Monday 25th

Give thanks for Father Boniface and Father Michael, for all their help, support and input and particularly, their support for the EVC staff team.

Tuesday 26th

Some of our sponsored children will be leaving their current schools this term to move on to their next stage of education. Pray for a positive attitude towards this move and an excitement about the new opportunities they will have.

Wednesday 27th

Our staff team travel a great deal when carrying out their duties, often by motor cycle taxi. Pray that they will be kept safe at all times.

Thursday 28th

At the end of this term, those completing certificate level in vocational schools will have finished their education and be looking for jobs. Pray that they will be successful in finding good employment.

Friday 29th

Pray that the new Nursery department at St Matia Mulumba will attract new families and that a strong educational foundation will be laid, as children are taught here.

Saturday 30th

As the long school holiday will soon begin, please pray for the children travelling home for Christmas. Pray that they will be a support and help to their families during the time at home and that they will be kept safe and well.
