For St Matia Mulumba Primary School (our current priority school in need of development):
- Supply books and teaching aids for curriculum study and vocational skills.
- School library (text books, reading books and relevant equipment).
- Equip the computer room and provide resources to introduce basic IT skills.
- The teaching of woodwork, tailoring and other relevant vocational skills.
- Set up a regular maintenance programme for school buildings and equipment.
- Put in place resources and facilities to ensure the general health and safety of children both in school and in the community.
- Set up local fundraising and community involvement schemes such that the school becomes self-sustainable.

2019 Church Appeals
During 2019, through church appeals, we raised a grand total of £49,954! This figure includes Gift Aid (which amounted to £7,000) and a very generous donation of £20,000 from a parishioner.
Also, mainly as a result of the appeals, we gained 42 new child sponsors, resulting in 58 children being sponsored in 2019. This adds very significantly to the sum raised in the collections during the year.

Over £250 was raised for EVC during the Christmas 2019 carol singing event at Morrisons in Bedford!

The Stewartby Operatic and Dramatic Society who ran a fantastic musical evening in aid of the charity. There was a large turnout, and a sum of £845.39 was raised.

Every month, Irene Daz teaches yoga classes with a live pianist, raising money for different NGO charities. This month she chose to raise funds for EVC Uganda and we are so grateful to her and all that participated in her class, donating to our cause. She collected a total of €80 for our projects in Uganda.

Including Gift Aid, the Church Appeals’ Programme during 2018 brought in a total of £23,000. As a result of these appeals, a further 45 children gained access to sponsored education. Ted and Judi have built up very good relationships with the clergy in many areas and have spread the word about EVC far beyond Bedford where the charity originated.

Morrisons Supermarket of Ampthill Road, Bedford welcomed us back to raise our voices in song. £209.49 was counted from the collection buckets and our carolling raised plenty of awareness for EVC!

September 2018 - Variety Performance
Thanksgiving was the theme of the show, and we are extremely thankful for its success. £905.10 was raised through admission and raffle ticket sales, and the figure was increased to £1,815.10 through a 'match funding' scheme. Several sponsors for children were also found through this event.

A group of EVC volunteers got together with friends from St Joseph’s and Christ the King parishes of Bedford. They sang carols and other favourite Christmas songs for two hours, raising a fantastic sum of £161.92. Thank you to Morrisons supermarket for being so accommodating!
